I enjoyed this place so much! Can't wait to go back. The breakfast was STUPENDOUS !!!!
MoreFood was really good but for some reason service was slow
Good breakfast selection. Food is good.
These people are great! We were the opposing team in town for a football game. They welcomed us heartily and made eating there a fun experience! Good home cooking in nice sized servings. We look for places like this when we travel.
MoreVery hometown feel. Get there early it fills up quick. French toast is really good. Staff was nice and friendly
MoreWe waited a while for someone to serve us & they weren't busy...during fall break. Food was not that great and the waitress was sweeping all around us & banging the broom against tables. We won't come back when we are back in town
MoreA true Starkville institution. It has been around for ages and has remained a great place to eat and hang out! Whenever I have friends visit from out of town I make sure to drop in!
MoreMagnifico! On sleepy little university drive lies this gem. The staff is kind and welcoming. We had breakfast - a "hungryman" assortment. It was terrific. We will be back!
MoreQuickly seated for 7, masked employees. Humongoid pancakes so be aware 1 fills a plate & is a typical 3 other places. Good bacon, gravy and eggs. Earliest brunch that was open. Efficient service and low key.
MoreSuch yummy home cooking. Yummy deliciousness!
Way way way over rated here. I've eaten breakfast here 4-5 times and the last will be the last.Hash browns were cold, stone cold. < than room temperature. The omelet looked promising but it was covered with a huge pink bead of of Come Back sauce. It is pretty gross, tasted like mayo/ketchup mix. I don't know what it's in it they wouldn't tell me. There was enough of it to caulk a window. I didn't pay nor eat this garbage. To their credit they offered to heat the taters in a microwave.
MoreVery warm atmosphere, great staff, and food was on point!!
There's nothing here to dislike. Great food and service. Historic, in the middle of downtown Starkville. We really like to eat here.
MoreI haven't been to The Starkville Cafe in far too long. That won't happen again. They still have the best home cooked food and atmosphere that I remember. Family friendly with the best food away from Mama's kitchen. Enjoy!
MoreFantastic! There are a few places in Starkville, MS that just "feel" like Starkville, and this is one of those places. A comfy and laid back cafe with home style cooking hosted by friendly servers. I highly recommend that anyone who wants to experience Starkville start their day off here. The reason this place gets four stars instead of five is because it is usually so packed that you often will have to wait thirty minutes to an hour for a table, which should lend to how great this place is overall.
MoreThe food here is good, but they should update their lunch specials. They never have anything on the lunch special I like, so I have to order from the menu.
MoreAwesome breakfast!
Generally good food. Great coffee too. But not much fresh salad.
Breakfast is great. Fluffy pancakes and house made sausage. Good old style diner.
MoreGreat crispy Bacon! Pancakes are really good too.
Standard home cooking restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a small town.
MoreGood food and nice down home cooking
Love this little gem in a fun College town. My daughter and I visited MSU and had breakfast here. Down-home southern food and hospitality!
MoreFrench toast is literally just bread with butter and. The worst French toast anybody has ever tried to sell. No flavor just bread for 6 dollars 👎🏽.
MoreBest breakfast in Starkville. They serve Conecuh smoked sausage too.
One of Starkville's favorite spots! Their breakfast is always so good and they also have pretty good plate lunches! Staff is efficient and kind!!
MoreWe enjoy dining here because the food is consistently good, but it could really use a good deep cleaning and remodel since it’s the only breakfast/quick bite spot downtown. It is closed down enough hours to do some gradual upgrading without losing the small town diner charm.
MoreThe food wasnt the best this morning which is a little off for them. However the service was amazing just like usual
MoreI love this place
This place does not have the best of reviews however we found it pretty great. Small Town diner feel.
MoreWaffles were unfortunately crusty and hard. Duck syrup is stellar! Biscuits and gravy was solid.
MoreGreat breakfast joint
One of my favorite restaurants in town! Food is always good and the service is always quick! There is normally a line so be prepared for a little bit of a wait.
MoreWay overrated place in town. Pancakes are absurdly big that is good, but don’t have taste at all it is literally like eating flour from the bag. Service is not outstanding, but just “meeeh”. When you compare this place to other locals that offer breakfast like Harvey’s or Central station grill you feel like you just threw your money to the garbage.
MoreDelicious breakfast and lunch food. Freshly chopped slaw, definitely recommend the jalapeño slaw if you like spicy food. They have a great variety of foods and classic southern diner atmosphere.
MoreThe fish is so good
The best home cooking in Starkville no doubt.
This place has a small town feel of an old cafe. We got here on a game day around 8am and it was starting to fill up, so get there early on a game day or prepare to wait 30 min or so. I had the breakfast burritos and they were cooked perfect. The grits and coffee were delicious as well. The service was exceptional! I don't know what duck butter actually is but it has a sweet caramelish flavor.
MoreSolid small town breakfast joint, with the friendliest service and pancakes around, always accompanied with a heavy dose of Fox News and narrow minded regulars.
MoreThe food was awesome. Everything was seasoned well. I felt like I was eating a home cooked meal.
MoreWhat a treasure! Great food served by a happy staff. And the cook singing along with the radio was a bonus! The ideal small town eatery. A bit of nostalgia.
MoreA good, family style restaurant but a little over-hyped, in my opinion. While the food and service were good, there was nothing that made the place exceptionally good.
MoreOne of the busy places in Starkville where you might need to wait for getting a table. Their brunch menu is good ( I have not visited for dinner yet) so as the food quality. might complain about the portion size though. The place in the downtown has its own old vibe that you would love to dine in. I would definitely recommend this place.
MorePretty good food and great service. But tbh iHop has better omelets. Get yoself some bacon
MoreWonderful food. Family friendly atmosphere. Staff very attentive. (Our waitress even brought our 2 yr old grandson a toy "duckie" to entertain him while we briefly awaited our brunch to be delivered.) ❤❤😊
MoreVery homey. I love the mom and pop feel. The food is always good and it feels like I'm home and eating my grandmother's cooking
MoreGreat food, long wait only bc it was so packed!
I love the down home atmosphere and friendly service.
Nice local place. With the visit
Breakfast was great. Service was awesome. It is usually packed, so you have to wait, but it's worth it. I like the old-time cafe feel.
